Kalce - Mali Javornik (Javorniki)

Access to the starting point:
Z avtoceste Ljubljana - Koper se usmerimo na izvoz Postojna, nato pa se zapeljemo proti centru Postojne. V omenjenem kraju bomo opazili oznake za Pečna reber in železniško postajo, ki nas usmerijo desno, nato pa približno 200 m pred železniško postajo zavijemo levo (križišče ni označeno) na cesto, ki nas kmalu popelje preko avtoceste. Na drugi strani avtoceste pridemo na križišče, kjer se v desno odcepi cesta proti Stara vas, mi pa nadaljujemo v smeri Javornika in Svete Trojice. Nekoliko naprej, ob spomeniku NOB, se v levo odcepi cesta proti Pečni rebri, mi pa nadaljujemo rahlo desno ter lepi makadamski cesti sledimo do križišča, kjer nas oznake za Javornik usmerijo levo. Parkiramo nekaj metrov naprej na primernem mestu ob cesti.

Path description:
At the starting point, signs for Javornik direct us to the left road, and we walk along it until a moderate left turn. Here, a less visible marker directs us right onto a slightly overgrown path, which quickly leads to a nearby wooden hut. Continue slightly left along the rather overgrown path, which, at a higher altitude, becomes completely close to the forest road. Just a few metres before reaching the road, turn right and continue climbing along the wide cart track, which climbs moderately through the forest. The cart track turns into a footpath higher up, and this quickly leads to a forest road, which you follow to the right.
Continue on the macadam road, which soon turns off to the left onto the marked path to Mali Javornik (the turn-off is not marked, but there is a small cairn at the start of the path). Continue on the above-mentioned path (straight ahead on the Veliki Javornik road), which is at first completely overgrown, then changes to cart track and begins to climb steeply through the forest. After a few minutes, you will notice faded markings directing you left onto the narrower cart track, which turns into an occasionally overgrown path higher up. The path then leads us out of the forest onto a grassy slope, where it turns slightly to the right and then leads us in a few minutes to the top of the forested Little Javorník.
