Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Naklo, Podtabor or Brezje, then continue in the direction of Kropa. At the junction where the road continues straight on towards Kropa, turn right and continue a little further to Kamna Gorica, where you will find a small parking lot in the middle of the village, next to the sports ground and playgrounds.
b) From the motorway Jesenice - Ljubljana, take the exit Lesce or Radovljica, then continue in the direction of Radovljica and later the villages Lancovo, Lipnica and Kamna Gorica. When you arrive in Kamna Gorica, park in the small parking lot next to the children's playground.
Path description:
From the starting point, first cross the road and then continue along the side road to the right of the chapel. The road leads us past a few more houses, then behind the last house the asphalt ends and the road turns into cart track a few metres further on, and the road splits into two parts.
Continue straight on (one of the paths to Pusti grad on the left) along cart track, which continues along the edge of the valley, and quickly reaches a pass where there is a marked crossroads.
From the crossroads, continue left towards the nature trail Pusti grad (straight ahead Fuxova brv and Radovljica, unmarked trail to Vreče on the right), where after a short climb from the left the above-mentioned trail leading to Pusti grad joins. Further on, a gently sloping path leads us steeply above the Galleries, and a little further on, the path through the Galleries joins us. After the junction of the above-mentioned path, we leave the forest and the path leads us across the hayfield to the settlement Zgornja Lipnica, where at the crossroads we follow the signs for Pusti grad. Walk along the dirt road, which after a few minutes is joined by another path from the Fux footbridge. Continue along the road, which then leads to the next houses, where at the crossroads you again follow the signs for Pusti grad. Behind the last house, we get a nice view of the route to the Alps, and then, when we enter the forest again, we arrive at a crossroads where a short path branches off to the left, leading to Pusti grad. From the crossroads, Pusti grad is reached after about a minute's further walking, and from the top you return to the last crossroads and continue to the left (straight ahead, if you do not visit Carnival Castle).
There is a short crossing, then you pass a trestle and descend to a nearby farmhouse, at which you join the road. Follow the road down to the main road Kamna Gorica - Lancovo, and we carefully cross it and continue our descent on a side road. A little lower down, the road leads us past a few more houses, and at the crossroads we follow that road, which continues in roughly the same direction and descends. The tarmac soon ends and we return to the main road, which we follow until we reach the settlement Lancovo. Continue straight on through Lancovo, then after the bridge over the Sava River, turn left onto the path along the Sava. The gently sloping path continues along the left bank of the Sava River, passing fish, and then, after a small bridge over a side stream, turns slightly to the right and gives way to the Sava River. There is some alternating walking through woods and across meadows, and then you arrive at a larger meadow where a short path, less than 5 minutes long, branches off to the right towards the Lehnjak stream and its source. If you decide to visit the stream, return to the 'main' path and then continue towards Šobec. A little further on, at some beehives, you reach a macadam road, and a little further on another wider road, which you follow down to the left. After a short descent, you will reach a large parking lot at Šobčev bajer, where you continue to the left and walk through the entrance to the bivouac to Šobčovo bajerje. During the bathing season, access to the lake is free of charge.
Description and pictures refer to the situation in 2016 (March).
