Access to the starting point:
Leave the Coastal Expressway at the exit for Pula, Poreč and Šmarje. Continue along the main road towards Šmarje, leaving at the roundabout by the OMV petrol station and taking the exit towards Marezige and Vanganel. Continue towards Vanganel, but only as far as the crossroads where the road to Kampel turns right (there is a bus stop Kapelca before the crossroads). Turn right and park at a suitable place at the crossroads.
Path description:
From the starting point, continue along the asphalt road leading to the village Kampel, and before the village we leave it and continue to the right in the direction of the local signs. Just after the crossroads, cross a small bridge, then continue for some time on the asphalt road, which leads us into the forest a few minutes further on. In the forest, first continue straight ahead, and when the asphalt ends, choose the lower path. Continue along the macadam road, which you leave at the left-hand bend and continue to the right in the direction of the Vinka Lovrečič trail to Pomjan. The trail continues through the forest, and we follow the signs at the crossroads. Higher up, the path leads past a small spring, after which we cross a torrent, and then there is some more climbing through dense forest. We then climb along a well-maintained path and reach a marked crossroads where we join the path from Šmarij and Strunjan.
Continue towards Pomjan and Marezige, following the path that crosses the slopes to the left. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, or in the direction indicated by the markings, and the old path joins from the left. There is some more crossing, and then we reach a viewpoint, from where we have a nice view towards Pomjan and the surrounding hills. A little further on, the path leads us to the first house, and after it we get onto a worse road, which we follow up to the centre of the village.
When you reach the asphalt, continue left and walk past the NOB memorial to the parish church of St. George in Pomjan. From the church, continue along the road towards Marezige, and at the end of the village, when the road has already descended a little, you will reach a lookout point with a viewing platform.
