Košnica - Veliki Slomnik

Access to the starting point:
From Celje, drive to Zidane Most or vice versa. Shortly after Celje, the road to Košnica branches off to the right (from the route of Zidanega Most, turn left just before Celje). Follow the road, which mostly climbs, to a small pass, where you park somewhere along the road so as not to obstruct traffic (there is also a small crossroads on the pass and mountain signs).

Path description:
From the crossroads, continue in the direction of Slomnik, following the road as it climbs gently southwards. The road we are walking on soon (at the last house) turns into cart track, which crosses a meadow, which turns slightly left and goes into the forest. After a few minutes' walk along cart track, the sign for Slomnik directs you right up the footpath, which starts to climb steeply. The path, which continues through the forest throughout the walk, leads us higher up to an undistinguished ridge where there is a small crossroads. Continue to the right, along a moderately steep ridge path which, without any major problems, quickly leads to a vegetated summit.
