Access to the starting point:
We go to Croatia via Border crossing Rogatec / Hum na Sutli. From Hum na Sutli, continue in the direction of Pregrada and Zabok, going only as far as the end of the village of Kostel, where you will take a sharp right at the crossroads (the turn-off is less visible; there is a monument and a spring at the crossroads). Officially, the trail starts here, but since there is no suitable place to park, go up by the Chapel of the Suffering Jesus all the way to the Church of St. Myrko, where you will park next to the cemetery.
Path description:
At the cemetery in the village of Kostel, you will see signs for Kostelgrad, which will direct you to a narrow road going up (orientation is easy because Kostelgrad is visible from the starting point).
The road goes into the forest and after a few minutes of walking you will come to a sharp bend to the left. A few minutes of steep climbing follows and we reach a crossroads below the castle, where we join the steep path, the unmarked path from the top of Kuna Gora and the path from Pregrad.
Continue onwards and after a few more minutes of walking you will reach the foot of the ruins of Kostelgrad.
We then climb up to the castle, where we are aided by steps.
Despite its relatively low altitude, the castle is a beautiful sight.
