Access to the starting point:
We go to Croatia via Border crossing Rogatec / Hum na Sutli. From Hum na Sutli, continue in the direction of Pregrada and Zabok, going only as far as the end of the village of Kostel, where you will take a sharp right at the crossroads (the turn-off is less visible; there is a monument and a spring at the crossroads). Officially, the trail starts here, but since there is no suitable place to park, go up by the Chapel of the Suffering Jesus all the way to the Church of St. Myrko, where you will park next to the cemetery.
Path description:
At the cemetery in the village of Kostel, you will see signs for Kostelgrad, which will direct you to a narrow road going up (orientation is easy because Kostelgrad is visible from the starting point).
The road goes into the forest and after a few minutes of walking you will come to a sharp bend to the left. A few minutes of steep climbing and you reach a crossroads below the castle.
The ruins of the castle are ahead, but we take a sharp right, with a signpost to help us find our way.
After a few bends, the path continues out of the forest towards the vineyards.
Behind the vineyards we arrive at a saddle between the two peaks of Kuna Gora. Go south to the left and follow the signs to the highest farm, then return to the forest.
The way ahead is quite steep at first, but the steepness gradually eases higher up. The forest thins out higher up, and a little higher still you reach a clearing. From here, follow the path for a few minutes and you will reach the top of Kuna gora. There is a register at the top, but no view.
