Kraljev hrib - Koritni vrh (Velika planina)

Access to the starting point:
First we drive to Kamnik, then continue in the direction of Kamnik Bistrica and the cable car to Velika planina. At Stahovica, turn left (direction Kamniška Bistrica and cable car Velika planina) and follow the road ascending moderately, then follow it to the large parking lot near the bottom station of the cable car to Velika planina (the parking lot is on the right hand side of the road).

Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the road in the route mountain pasture Down and Velika planina. After about 100 m of walking along the road, just before the first right turn, you will see on your left an initially wide path that climbs into the forest (the turn-off is not marked). Continue along the above-mentioned path, which soon crosses lane of bushes and immediately afterwards leads to a crossroads, where you continue on the right-hand path. Continue along the path which, after a short climb, leads to a forest road which you follow to the left (unmarked).
After a minute or two of walking along the road, you will reach a marked crossroads, where you continue to the right along a marked footpath. The path ahead climbs gently at first between the hemlock stands, then starts to climb steeply. The relatively steep path, which passes through the forest the whole way, leads us higher up to a short section that is exposed to falling rocks. The path climbs steeper before turning left, where the steepness subsides. After a few minutes of easy walking, the path leads to a forest road, which you follow to the right. Follow the road, which immediately passes from the forest to the western edge of mountain pasture Down for about 5 minutes to a marked crossroads, where you continue to the right - direction Velika planina towards the shepherd's huts at mountain pasture (to the left of mountain pasture Rzenik and Konj), which you reach after a few more steps of easy walking.
From the shepherd's huts at mountain pasture, pass the cross and climb to the edge of the forest, then continue the ascent along the path that climbs through the forest. Higher up, the forest becomes increasingly sparse and after about 30 minutes of climbing from mountain pasture down, the path leads us to mountain pasture Konjščica, which opens up a view towards nearby Rzenik.
The ascent continues along a gently sloping, partly grassy path, which climbs only slightly to the south. Further on, the relatively sloping path finally emerges from the forest onto the grassy slopes, which are becoming more and more scenic. After about 20 minutes' walk from mountain pasture Konjščica, at a point where you will see a slightly larger sinkhole ahead (a sinkhole into which excess building material is thrown), leave the waymarked trail and continue left along a less well-trodden path that climbs steeply along the edge of dwarf pines. When you reach a faint ridge, you will see a narrower cut on the left between dwarf pines, which will take you up to Koritni vrh in a few minutes of easy walking. In fog, orientation is very difficult.
