Krivčevo - Jarški dom na Mali planini

Access to the starting point:
On 30. 08. 2008 I left the village Krivčevo to Malo mountain pasture. The village Krivčevo is located on the road between Kamnik and the Savinja Valley. From Kamnik you drive through the village of Stahovica and then follow the main road all the way until you reach the village of Krivčevo (4-5 km from Stahovice). In the village of Krivčevo you will find it difficult to find a parking space, as the only major parking space available is in front of the Café pri Jurčku, but there is a sign saying that parking is only allowed for guests. However, as a beautiful word finds a beautiful place, we first went to the café for our morning coffee and blueberry muffins and then asked them if we could leave our vehicle on their property. They gave us permission to park and we were off to our destination.

Path description:
From the Café pri Jurčku you go around the corner of the house, where there is also a mountain signpost, up the hill. The trail is very well marked with mountain signs. This time there were four of us going up the hill, including two younger pensioners, who do not have much mountaineering fitness, and so the walking time has to be seen from that perspective. In any case, the pace was suitable for a family with younger children.

At 08:20 we leave the refreshment rom and after a few steps we leave the houses of the village Krivčevo and start climbing. The walk takes a while, but the path is quite zig-zag and therefore the walk is not so steeply uphill. Along the way we could see trees that were damaged in this year's (2008) storm. At 09:00 we came to a larger clearing where there is also a larger farm. I suppose this place is called Podkraj, if we look at the map.

The walk continues uphill past the farm and two cottages and at 10:05 we reached the road to mountain pasture Kisovec, where a large number of cars were parked. So, if you want to shorten your route to the mountain pasture small mountain pasture, you can take your vehicle to the mountain pasture Kisovec. From this point you can go along a dirt road to Dom na Kisovcu, 2 km away, but we went across the road and on up the hill. The trail continues through the forest, as it did up to this point, and at 10:35 we reached the edge of Mala mountain pasture and thus saw the very first mountain huts, which are typical of Velika planina. From here to the Järška home is a few minutes walk and at 11:00 we arrived at the dor of the home.

Here we had a variety of menus (ričet, sour milk, vampe. . . ) and at 12:00 we set off back to the starting point, arriving at 13:45.

P. S. : Just to clarify, Mala mountain pasture is only a part of plateau Velika planina. From the Järški Dům you could continue all the way to the top of Velika planina, which is called Gradišče and is at an altitude of 1666 metres above sea level. It would take about 40 minutes to get from home to Gradišče.
