Lake Negova - Negova Castle

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Pomurje motorway at exit Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici and follow the road towards Radenice. Shortly after leaving the motorway, turn left towards Negova and follow the road towards Negova and Negova Castle at the following junctions. Leave the road to Negova at the point where the signs for Ivanjski Vrh and Negova Lake direct you left onto a side road which descends slightly. When you arrive in Ivanjski Vrh, turn right towards the lake, where you park in a suitable place, just a few metres off the marked path.

Path description:
From the starting point, follow the macadam road in the direction of Negova and Sveti Treh Kraljev. Initially, walk through the woods, where the path leads slightly south of the lake, but to get a view of the lake you need to take a few steps off the path. After a few minutes, the road leads out of the forest and turns into cart track, which gradually starts to climb. The path continues between meadows and fields, and higher up it leads to the settlement Kunova, where it joins an asphalt road. Follow the road to the right, and at a nearby crossroads go left. A little further on, the road descends slightly and leads to the next crossroads, where signs direct us to the right, and we leave the asphalt road some 10 steps further on, where a signpost on the Pomurska planinske poti (Pomurska mountain trail) directs us to the left, down to the macadam road. A steeper descent through the forest follows, and when the forest ends, the path is laid. Follow the gently sloping path to the other side of the meadow, where you go right from the crossroads. Continue along the edge of the forest, and higher up through the lane of the forest, after which you reach the road to Negova.
Follow the road to the left, which leads quickly to a place where, on the left, a few 10 steps from the asphalt road, you can see the hunting lodge of LD Negova.
From the hunting lodge, continue along the asphalt road, which takes you past individual houses, the chapel and the fire house to the crossroads below the church in Negova. Here, continue slightly left and in a few steps you will reach the church in Negova, while the castle Negova is located a few 10 steps to the right.
