Ljubelj - Dom na Zelenici (lower on the border guard path)

Access to the starting point:
From the Gorenjska motorway, take the Ljubelj - Tržič exit. Follow the road towards the Ljubelj border crossing where, just a few metres before the crossing, turn left towards Zelenica. Park in the large parking lot under the ski slope.

Path description:
Those who like to walk on the dirt under the scorching sun will follow the marked path, while everyone else can follow the soft, "papered" unmarked path through the sparse forest on the Ljubeljščica slope, which was once made for the use of the border guards.

We start at the bottom station of the chairlift on Zelenica, walking a few dozen metres along the wide service road under the lift, and soon we see a clear path on the right, which leads us right slightly uphill into the shelter of the forest. The path is well worn and easy to follow, ascending at a moderate gradient, all the time in the pleasant shade of beech trees. There are a number of small gullies and one larger one (the larger one will see the path you are following directly opposite the village on the other bank, just cross the stream bed), but nowhere is the crossing difficult or exposed. After less than an hour's walk, the path joins a service road built a few years ago, just above the intermediate station of the chairlift, or rather above the Vertatscha hut, which can be seen below us on our left. This road is then followed to the house on Zelenica.
