Path description:
From the parking lot, cross the road and follow the marked path towards Krvavica. The trail goes into the forest from the very beginning and starts to climb quite steeply. Higher up, the steepness eases a little and the path turns sharp left at a signpost (walk along the path for rare bird species nesting). The path then starts to climb steeply again and after a few minutes of further walking leads to an undistinguished side ridge where it turns to the right. We continue to climb through the forest on a path that leads us higher up to a very steep slope. The steepness eases for a short time as the path leads us along an exposed and often muddy shelf. A steep climb follows up a grassy slope overgrown with sparse forest. At the top of this steep section, which is a slip hazard in wet conditions, the path leads to a natural window through which a protected mountain path is routed. With the help of crampons and a rope, we climb to the top of the window, followed by another 10 steps of walking on a steep grassy slope. The steepness then gives way and the path, which continues through the forest, soon leads us to the top of Krvavica.
From the top of Krvavice, we begin to descend steeply down a slightly exposed slope, and then the path leads us under the cliffs, from which we have a beautiful view. The path then passes into the forest and descends to a nearby forest road, which is only crossed (Zajčeva koča to the left, Presedlje and the village of Loke to the right). The ascent continues along the initially wide cart track, and we continue along a slightly steeper path to reach a road, which we follow to the right. We continue cross-climbing over the scenic slope, and after a few minutes the road leads us to a small crossroads where we join the path from Čemšeniška mountain pasture.
Here, continue left in the route Sveta planina and then, after a few metres, left again into the courtyard of the Gunet homestead. Turn left immediately after the house and climb through a short lane of woods to a grassy slope with a view. From the path, which ascends crosswise to the right, there is a beautiful view of the Čemšeniška mountain pasture, Krvavica and the Savinja Valley. At the top of the climb the path turns right and enters the forest, through which it continues without any major changes in altitude. After a few minutes, the wider cart track is joined, and it begins to descend steeply. A little lower still, cart track widens into a worse road, and we continue along it to the nearby Vrhe Mountain Home. From the mountain lodge, first walk to the nearby St. Lenart Church and a little further to the crossroads by the NOB monument. Here, continue along the right-hand road in the direction of Sveta planina or. We walk along the road for only a few more 10 steps, then on the left side we notice the unmarked cart track, which first climbs parallel to the road, then turns to the left and after a few minutes of further walking leads us out of the forest. Cart track then climbs across the former ski slope, and we immediately leave it and continue climbing right along the edge of the forest up a relatively steep slope. At a higher level, another cart track is reached, which is followed right into the forest. Cart track soon turns left and quickly returns to the area where the ski slope used to be. Through the scrub you climb to the top of the old ski lift, where you get a last view, and the path then passes into the forest, through which you climb steeply to the top.
