Lokev - Kokoš

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Koper take the exit Divača and follow the road towards the villages Lokev and Lipica. The road will then quickly lead you to the village of Lokev, where you will notice a narrow road turning left just after the cemetery (the road turnoff is 10m before the end of the village). You can park in a small parking lot next to the cemetery, or drive a little further along the dirt road and then park in one of several small parking lots along the road.

Path description:
From the cemetery, continue along the folded macadam road, which quickly leads to the first crossroads (at the chapel), where you continue right in the direction of "Kokoška". The dirt road, which crosses numerous karst meadows, leads us after about half an hour's walk to the foot of the mountain (a possible starting point).
Continue along the wide cart track in the direction of "Kokoš 1 hour". The initially rather folded cart track has a few switchbacks in the lower part, but all of them are well marked. Higher up, cart track starts to climb steeply and gradually turns into a relatively wide footpath, which leads to a forest road higher up. Continue to the right and in a few more minutes of walking you will reach the top of Kokoši, where the mountain lodge is located.
