Lož - Grad Lož (Pusti grad)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Koper take the exit Unec, then follow the road in the direction of Cerknica and further in the direction of Bloška Police. At Bloška Polica, at the crossroads, turn right towards Lož, Loška dolina and Snežnik. The road then leads past the road to Križna jama, and after a short descent we arrive in Lož, where we park in a suitable place. Preferably somewhere near the Kovinoplastika Lož d. d. company, or the Lož TIC.
b) From Velike Lašče or the vicinity of Ribnica, drive on to Novo vas na Blokah, and from there continue to Cerknica, but only as far as Bloška Polica, where you turn left to Lož, Loška dolina and Snežnik. The road then leads past the road to Križna jama, and after a short descent we arrive at Lož, where we park in a suitable parking space. Preferably somewhere near the Kovinoplastika Lož d. d. company, or TIC Lož.

Path description:
From where we parked, we first walk to the TIC Lož (19 October 49), where we see information boards. Continue along the asphalt road that runs between the TIC on the left and the Kovinoplastika Lož d. d. factory on the right. At the end of the factory, the asphalt road turns into a dirt road and starts to climb gently. After a short 10 steps walk on macadam, you reach a small crossroads where the signs for Loški grad direct you to the road, which continues straight ahead. After the nearby cross, the deteriorating road, which has since turned into cart track, passes out of the forest, turns left and leads us along the pasture. At the crossroads follow the signs for Loški grad, and cart track, which we are following, quickly returns to the forest or partly also to the scrub. The signs for Loški grad direct us just a little further to the left on a moderately steep path which first climbs crosswise to the right and then, with the help of another sign, turns sharp left. The ascent follows a slightly more overgrown path, which climbs towards the ruins of the castle. When you reach a small crossroads just before the ramparts, continue left (the right path goes around the ramparts, but due to the overgrowth it ends before you reach the halfway point around the castle), then go through a slightly lower passage in the ramparts to the inner side of the ramparts, where there is a short climb to the top of the lookout.
