Mali Log - Koča na Kamnem griču

Access to the starting point:
a) First drive to Sodražica, then continue driving in the direction of Hrib-Loški Potok. Before you reach the settlement, the signs for Mali Log and the industrial zone of the same name direct you to the right, onto a slightly narrower road, which will quickly take you to the settlement. Continue through the industrial estate, then turn right at the large chapel. Continue past a few houses, then after house No Mali Log 14 turn right onto the road, which after a short climb takes you above the village, where you can see the mountain direction signs. Park in a suitable place near the direction signs, as there are no parking spaces further down in the village.
b) First, drive to Novo vas at the block, and from there continue towards Hrib-Loški Potok. Before you reach the village, the signs for Mali Log direct you to the left on the ascending road. When you arrive in Mali Log, turn left at the house with house number Mali Log 15 onto the road, which after a short climb will take you above the village, where you will see the mountain direction signs. Park in a suitable place near the direction signs, there are no parking spaces further down in the village.

Path description:
From the route signs, continue in the direction of Travna Gora and Kamnega griča, along the road, which after a few 10 metres leads to a small crossroads, where you continue to the right. When the meadow on which the road runs ends, we pass into the forest and start to climb moderately. After a short climb, the road splits and we continue along the right-hand side, along which there are also quite frequent markings. Higher up, the road lays down, and a little further on it starts to descend more steeply. When the road lays down, continue straight ahead at another small crossroads, then carefully cross the main road Sodražica - Hrib-Loški Potok, where you will also see the signs for the Cottage on the Stone Hill.
On the other side of the road, the road first gently descends and then begins a moderate climb through the forest. Higher up, the road leads past a memorial, a sign and a small hut, and then after a further short climb we arrive at a marked crossroads where we continue left in the direction of Koča na Kamnem griču (straight ahead Koča na Travna Gora, Nova Štifta. . . right Hrib-Loški Potok. . . ).
The poorer road leads us through increasingly sparse forest, and higher up over a fairly scenic grassy slope. The hut, which we can already see in front of us in the last part, can be reached in just over 5 minutes from a crossroads with numerous mountain signs.
