Maribor Island - Kalvarija (church of St. Barbara)

Access to the starting point:
- From the motorway from Murska Sobota towards Maribor, take the exit Maribor-north.
- Join the expressway via Maribor (Maribor-north, Dravograd).
- From the expressway take the exit Dravograd, Maribor-center and follow the signs towards Dravograd.
- Go through the town of Maribor towards Kamnice.
- In Kamnice turn left towards Maribor Island.
- Park in the parking lot in front of the island.

Path description:
- The route starts in the parking lot in front of Maribor Island.
- From the parking lot, head towards Maribor, along the macadam path.
- The trail leads along the Drava River to the Koblarjev zaliv (Koblar's Bay) inn.
- At the crossroads, after the inn, turn left onto the asphalt path.
- The path leads to the next crossroads, where you turn right towards the Fontana Sports Centre.
- Continue along the city of Maribor (Gosposvetska cesta - Turnerjeva ulica - Vrbanska cesta).
- You will reach the Mitnica bar, after which turn right towards the Vrbanska sports hall and the Maribor Biotechnical School.
- Ahead of us, the view opens up towards the steps to Calvary (Štenge).
- Continue up the stairs and turn right at the top.
- Continue towards the Church of St. Barbara.
- At the next crossroads turn left and after a few metres continue through the woods (turn left again, towards the church).
- Continue uphill.
- At the top of the hill is the Church of St Barbara, which is also the destination of our route.
- The whole route is about 3. 5 km long, approximately 45 minutes' walk.
