Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Celje motorway take the Šempeter v Savinjski Dolini exit and drive through the town, then turn right at the church and follow the road all the way to the village of Matke. Go through the village of Matke and at the crossroads at the end of Matke we continue straight (left Hom). Soon we come to a crossroads where we continue straight (left Marija Reka). After a few metres we come to a meadow where we park the car (there used to be a beehive here).
Path description:
From the parking lot, head straight along the road to the signs for Mrzlica and continue along the tarmac road. After 20 minutes you will reach the saddle between Kamnik and Mrzlica.
Continue towards Kamnik (45 min).
The path turns into a forest and cart track is followed to a small saddle below Kamnik. Go uphill and immediately follow the signs to the left to the foot of the boulders. Here the path becomes more difficult. The first fixed safety gear wedges are reached. After this, you reach a grassy part, then cross a small scree slope and reach the fixed safety gear again, which you follow all the way to the top.
At the top is the bivouac of Stank Kotnik at 861 m.
