Medvodje - Planina Spodnja Dolga njiva (via planina Brsnina)

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice motorway, take the Podnart (Ljubelj) exit, then continue on the expressway towards Ljubelj and Tržič. When the expressway ends, you will see a petrol station on the right hand side, before which turn right down towards Tržič. Continue through Tržič, and we follow the narrower road towards Dovžana Gorge and then through the villages of Dolina and Jelendol to Medvodje, where we park in the marked parking area at the nearby crossroads.

Path description:
From the parking lot continue along the road to the right in the direction of Storžič, Stegovik and Stegovnik waterfall (left Košutna, Koschutnikturm and mountain pasture Dolga njiva along the marked path), and after a few 10 steps continue straight on (right Stegovnik waterfall). The way ahead leads along a dirt road, which continues along Tržiška Bistrica, and when you reach the crossroads at the confluence of Tržiška Bistrica and Fevče, continue along the left-hand road, which continues along Tržiška Bistrica. Higher up, the road takes a sharp left turn and leads us just a few steps further to a crossroads where we go right (the left road leads to Medvodnica 1202 m). There is a climb up some serpentines, and then a fine view opens up to the west, and the road still follows the course along Tržiška Bistrica, although we occasionally move away from the riverbed. Once higher up, rejoin the right bank of the Tržiška Bistrica and then take the first cart track to the right, and a few minutes further on join the cart track which continues from the end of the second forest road. Climb for a few minutes on the rough cart track, then take the slightly left cart track (slightly right mountain pasture 3 minutes) which is joined by markings just a few paces further on. Crossing the torrent, a little further on the cart track markings direct us to the left, so that we continue to cross the slopes to the left. There are some short ups and downs, and the path leads under the Turen Towers, where there is some risk of falling rocks. The track starts to disappear and we follow the markings which lead us a little further on to cart track, which we follow up to the right. Quickly, before an interesting cliff, go left, where you continue on a fainter path that first crosses the slopes and then climbs crosswise over a steep slope. The slope, from which we get a temporary view towards Storžič, gradually flattens out and the path leads to a dirt road which descends gently. Descend for a few minutes, then turn right at the crossroads towards Dolga njiva (follow the road left into the valley) and continue the easy descent. A little further on, the markings direct us right to the older cart track, which is followed crosswise down to the torrent, cross it, then walk across the pasture to a marked crossroads, where you go right and then, within a minute's further walking, arrive at the pasture at mountain pasture Lower Dolga njiva.
