Novo Selo Okićko - Čerga (Plešivica)

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Zagreb-Karlovac motorway at the Zdenčina exit. Go straight ahead at the traffic lights. Only in Klinča Sela we will go left at one crossroads (the arrow is unusually placed lower down on the fence). Now we just keep going and we arrive in the village of Novo Selo Okićko. When you get to the bus turnaround, park your vehicle in a suitable place.

Path description:
From the bus turnaround in Novo Selo Okićkem, head north down to the wider road. The path descends to a chapel at which there is a crossroads. At the chapel, a path branches off to the right towards the mountain lodge below Okiće, and we continue straight ahead and walk along the road for about 1 minute, then go left across the meadow and into the woods, where we cross a stream. On the other side of the stream there is another crossroads where the path splits into an easier and a more difficult one (the more difficult one leads over the rocky tooth Popovdolska cliff (difficult)).
If you have chosen the easier option, you will soon emerge from the forest onto a path that leads around an abandoned quarry.
After the quarry, the path returns to the forest and starts to climb steeply along cart track. At the end of the steep part, the above-mentioned path joins us over the Popovdolska cliff, and we continue left here to the west. The path ahead is for a short time gentle, then climbs steeply along the ridge to the first peak of Plešivica, where the path lays down for a while.
When you reach a wider forest road, cross it and the path starts to climb steeply on the other side, on a rockier terrain. In a few places you have to help yourself with your hands and then you reach the next peak, Zub (the climb to this peak is quite difficult, but it is also possible to go around it on a slightly less difficult path). After Zub you will come to an avalanche-like place, where the difficult part ends.
From here we will climb to the next peak, from which there are a few more short ascents and descents to Čerga. A little further on, the path from the village of Rude and the Okić mountain lodge joins us from the right. From the crossroads, the path climbs and descends a few more times before reaching the top of Čerga, where there is a lookout tower and a geodetic point.
