Osredek - Dom v Iškem Vintgarju

Access to the starting point:
From Cerknica, continue driving in the direction of Begunje pri Cerknici. Follow the road 643. Then you will arrive in the village of Selšček, which is famous for the master painter Maksim Gaspari. Continue through Selšček and at the end of the village drive for about 350 m. At the crossroads turn right (signpost Cajnarje). Go through the village of Topol near Begunje and keep right. When you pass through the village of Topol, continue driving on the main road (if you reach a macadam road, you have missed it!). Then the first village will be Cajnarje, go through Cajnarje, over the bridge and into Hruškarje (keep right). Pass the fire house (PGD Cajnarje). From the fire house it is about 200 m to the next crossroads, turn right here (signpost Sveti Vid). Here the road starts to rise, the ride will be more winding, watch out for cars, buses, trucks, tractors. . . Then we reach the village of Bečaje, and again the village of Hruškarje. We drive along the main road to Sveti Vid. When you get to Sveti Vid, drive straight along the main road, where after 500 m (from the start of the Sveti Vid sign), turn right signpost Osredek. Continue to Osredek. You will pass the village of Zala. From Sveti Vid to Osredek is 6 km. Leave the car in Osredek at the Ujčevi Farm Tourism.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue walking past the church and at the crossroads in 100 m there is a signpost Vrbica-Iški Vintgar. Turn left, walk 600 m to three houses and turn right. The path is marked so that it is almost impossible to miss it and get lost. Walk past a house with a homemade sign on the house and after 30 m turn right. Walk along the dirt road and start descending towards the forest. When you reach the forest, keep right and then descend into the forest again. It is less than a kilometre from that turn to the change of route. When we have to turn right we will see a signpost and markings (on the right side of the path we will see signs). From here on everything is marked. The trail continues to ascend and descend and there are significant elevation changes of 50-100 m. In the last part, the path descends only gently towards the Lodge in Iška Vintgar In winter, it is not advisable to hike because you have to walk across the Ischka River, as the footbridge collapsed about a year ago. Every year on 1. 5. there is a hike organized by PD Sveti Vid<r> The path is not for everyone, as there are also some fixed safety gear (caution especially if there are smaller children, elderly, etc. on the trip). There are also a lot of ticks along the river Ischia.
