Access to the starting point:
From the Zagreb - Split motorway, take the Otočac exit. Follow the road towards the village of Krasno and Sjeverni Velebit. A rather winding road leads through the village of Švica to Krasno, where the road from Senj joins (access is also possible from this direction). In Krasno, continue towards the signs for the Sjeverni Velebit National Park and the Zavižan lodge. The road, which then becomes macadam, leads to the entrance to the park, where the entrance fee is collected. Continue along the road which, shortly before the chapel, leads to a small roadside parking lot where you will see signs for Mali Rajinac.
Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the footpath, which initially descends slightly and circles the sinkhole on the right-hand side of the path. The path climbs up to a point where it leads out of the forest. Follow the path through a beautiful grassy clearing to the crossroads at Buljevac. Here, take the path in the direction of Mali Rajinac. After a few metres, the path descends into the forest, where it continues with a few drops and climbs. The way forward crosses a clearing a few times and after a while leads to the next crossroads at a larger clearing.
Continue left again in the direction of Malá Rajinac, which is still a 50-minute walk away. On the other side of the clearing, a mark on the R. J. rock tells us that we are on the right track. The trail then climbs through the forest again, where we are helped by frequent markings. The path then almost encircles the summit and leads us up the less and less vegetated slope to the top.
