Parking Schöcklkreuz - Schöckl (via Schöcklkopf)

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Maribor-Graz-Salzburg motorway (A9) at the Gratkorn-Süd exit (first exit after the Plabutschtunnel).
Turn left towards Graz-Andritz. At the next traffic lights, turn left into "Weiz, St. Radegund".
Follow the road to the end (approx. 3 km), where at the junction turn left again in the route St. Radegund.
After 4 km, look out for a left fork in the route Rinegg. Go through Rinegg to the rehabilitation centre, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and continue uphill.
Follow the road to the highest point of the road, where you park in the "Schöcklkreuz" parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, head towards the barrier and on to the nearby mountain markers, which stand at the fork of two macadam roads. From here, follow the well-trodden path following the markings.
In between, cross the dirt road a few times along the way. When you reach the dirt road for a short time, pay attention to the mountain signs which direct you left up the rock.
Follow the path towards the forest, enjoying the view to the north in between.
When we reach the forest, the path leads us up a very steep rocky-forest slope.
After a larger rock, where we use our hands to help us, we soon emerge from the forest onto a meadow.
Follow the meadow up past the wind gauge and on to the start of a wooden path which leads to the top station of the gondola.
Go around the station on the right and follow the wooden path past the transmitter (on the right), past the mountain hut (on the left) and past the playground in the direction of the smaller transmitter.
When you reach the end of the wooden path, you will see the cross of the western summit.
