Access to the starting point:
From the Gorenjska highway (exit Lesce), Železnikov or Soriška planina, take the Bohinjska Bistrica, then continue driving towards Lake Bohinj. In Ribčev Laz, just before the lake, turn right towards Stara Fužina, where you first cross a bridge with a nice view of Bohinjsko jezero and pass the church of St. John the Baptist. When you arrive in Stara Fužina, at the crossroads by the chapel, turn sharp left onto the ascending road towards mountain pasture Blato, mountain pasture Vogar and the Voja valley. The road leads to a place where tolls and parking fees are collected, and we follow it to the next crossroads, where we continue to the left (right Voje). We then follow the road to the next crossroads (we drive for some time), where we take a sharp right in the direction of mountain pasture Blato (straight ahead mountain pasture Vogar). Follow this road to the marked parking lot above mountain pasture Blato.
Path description:
From the marked parking lot, retrace your steps back along the road and then follow the ascending cart track in the direction of mountain pasture at Jezero, mountain pasture at Lazo and mountain pasture at Dedno polje. The path along cart track climbs quite steeply at first and after about 10 minutes leads to a marked crossroads where you continue along the left-hand, upper cart track (straight ahead mountain pasture at Lazo and a steep path up to mountain pasture at Jezero).
After less than 5 minutes of further ascent, at a right turn, a path with mountain pasture Vogar joins us from the left, and we continue to the right in the direction of mountain pasture at Jezero. We continue up the slightly less steep cart track, which lays completely flat for a short time, then climbs more steeply and leads us through an artificial "narrow". After the 'narrows', the cart track is laid down again, and the abovementioned steep path joins us from the right behind two benches. After the crossroads, the path turns left and leads to a pasture fence, beyond which you enter a small valley where the cold air usually stays. The path ahead gradually becomes steeper again, and then, as it flattens out, turns right. A little further on, a path joins us from the left, leading over or past mountain pasture Vodični vrh.
From this crossroads onwards, the forest begins to thin out, but when we finally step out of the forest, we are already at mountain pasture near Jezero, where we are only a few 10 steps of easy walking away from the nearby mountain hut.
From the hut, continue left downhill (slightly right mountain pasture in Laz and Vodnikov dom) and descend to the shepherd's huts, where the next marked crossroads are.
From the crossroads, continue straight on in the direction mountain pasture Dedno polje (left up mountain pasture Viševnik) and continue along cart track, which starts to climb steeply after mountain pasture. Higher up, another path branches off to the left towards mountain pasture Viševnik, passing Krištofojce, and we follow the wide dirt track all the way to mountain pasture Dedno polje, which offers a fine view of the surrounding mountains.
Bypass the shepherd's huts and the cheese cottage on the left and continue straight ahead in the direction Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (right valley Za Kopico). From mountain pasture onwards, we start to climb moderately, and the path from the nearby hunting hut joins us almost imperceptibly from the left. A little further on, the path leads us past another trail branch towards mountain pasture Viševnik (the path along Griva (1758 m)), and in the next few minutes we arrive at the upper edge of the vast mountain pasture Ovčarije, where we have a beautiful view of the Bohinjsko - Tolmin mountains. From here there is a short descent, and then we join the path from the left with mountain pasture Vogar, which leads over mountain pasture Viševnik, and a few steps further on the path splits into two parts.
Here we continue slightly left in the direction of Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (the path over Prode) along the path, which after a few more minutes leads us to a beautiful viewpoint (view of the Bohinj - Tolmin mountains). Here the path turns sharp right and in a moderate descent crosses steep grassy slopes. The path then enters the forest and for a short time begins to climb steeply. The steepness then eases and the path leads us out of the dense forest to a crossroads where the path from the Black Lake joins us on the left. Continue straight on the path, which climbs gently and after a few minutes leads us to a place where we see the Double Lake in front of us. The path continues gently downhill to the lake and continues along the right side of the lake. Here we come to a crossroads where the path to Tičarica branches off to the right, or joins the path across Štapce. Continue on the lower path, which after a few minutes of further walking leads to Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih, which you can see in front of you.
After resting and enjoying the views, we continue in the direction of Dom na Komni. The path continues along the right (west) side of the lake and ascends crosswise. A little further on, near the hunting lodge, which is not visible from the path, the path turns right in a semicircle and gradually begins to descend. Somewhere in the middle of the descent towards mountain pasture Lopučnica, at a small level where the marked path we are following turns left, an unmarked path branches off to the right, leading towards the plateau of Zgornje Komna and Gladke and Debele Laszto (the above-mentioned path is lost in the karst world higher up).
When you reach the marked crossroads at mountain pasture continue left towards Komna (right along the worse path Velika vrata preval).
From the mountain pasture chute, ascend cross-country to the left, and the trail soon splits into two parts. Take the marked right path, which is joined a few minutes higher by the unmarked left path. When the two paths merge, you will pass two older benches and a partially overhanging water trough. There are some ups and downs with occasional views of the surrounding mountains, and then the path leads to the boggy mountain pasture on Kal. A similar route continues to the abandoned mountain pasture Razor, where some ruins of former tents can be seen along the way. After mountain pasture Razor, the path splits again, and we take the path in the direction of Dom na Komni (the right path leads to the Cottage pod Bogatino). There follows a walk of about 20 minutes, along a path that goes without any major ascents or descents, and then we have a beautiful view towards Dom na Komni and the Lower Bohinj Mountains range. From here there is some downhill and then we join a wider mulatier which we first follow to the left (right Koča pod Bogatinom), then after a few steps, at the next crossroads, we take the right path in the direction of Dom na Komni (straight down Črno jezero and Koča pri Savici).
From the last crossroads, there is a 5-minute climb and the path leads to Dom na Komni, which is open all year round.
