Platak - Snježnik (via crest)

Access to the starting point:
From the Zagreb - Rijeka motorway, take the Kikovica exit, which leads to the old Zagreb - Rijeka road. Follow the old road in the direction of Zagreb, but only as far as where the ascending road to the ski resort of Platak turns off to the left. Follow this road to a large parking lot, where you park.

Path description:
At the end of the large parking lot (on the right hand side in the direction of ascent) we will see the mountain signs for Snježnik, which direct us to a forest road that climbs gently past the ski slope. The road then goes into the forest, where it starts to climb moderately. After about 15 minutes of walking, the markings direct us left up the worse cart track, which quickly leads us to the next road. Continue left (porly marked) along the road, which after a few more minutes leads us to a fork in the trail, where we continue right in the direction of "Snježnik over the ridge". The gradually deteriorating road leads us in a few minutes to the next crossroads, where we continue left in the direction of Snježnik (right Risnjak). The weaker road we are walking on leads us in a few dozen steps of slight ascent to a small pass called Rimska vrata. Leave the road here and continue slightly left on a footpath which climbs parallel to the road. The path quickly enters the wods, where it begins to climb steeply. After a short climb through the forest, the path leads us to the uncultivated slopes of Snježnik. The increasingly scenic route quickly leads us to a ridge, which we follow to the top.
