Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Celje motorway, take the Šempeter exit and follow the road towards Polzela. At Polzela, the signs for Gora Oljka direct you to the right. The road then leads to the village of Podvin at Polzela, where you will see the next sign for Mount Oljeka. Here we continue straight on (although Gora Oljka says right) and follow the road to the level crossing at the end of the village of Podgora. Just a few metres before the level crossing, turn right onto a dirt road and park alongside it (there are no major parking areas).
Path description:
The road along which we park, leads us after a few minutes walk to the chapel near which is the crossroads. Continue left up Martin's path, which after a short climb leads us to a small hamlet where we continue right. Continue along the cart track, which quickly leads to a water reservoir. The marked path bears right to the water reservoir, slightly downhill and then climbs cross-country to the south-east. After a while, the path leaves the woods and ascends a grassy slope to the Jug guesthouse. Continue along the road, which soon turns left up a marked path to Mount Oljeka. Continue straight ahead along the road to the next crossroads. Here, the signs for the Martin Trail direct you left up the path, which climbs crossways above the road. A little higher up, we rejoin the road, which we soon leave again. It is only a few minutes' moderate climb to Mount Oljeka.

Discussion about the trail Podgora - Gora Oljka (Martin way)
KARAMELICA10. 04. 2016
