Podmeja - Planinski dom Vrhe (northern way)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Celje, take the Šempeter exit and continue towards Prebold and later Trbovlje. Follow the serpentine road to the Podmeja Pass, where you will park in the parking lot near the hunting lodge.

b) From Zasavje, first drive to Trbovlje, then continue to Prebold. When you reach the Podmeja Pass, park in the parking lot near the hunting lodge.

Path description:
From the Podmeja pass, head west on the worse macadam road towards Svete mountain pasture. After some 10 steps leave the road and continue along cart track, which climbs gently through the forest. Higher up, cart track becomes completely flat and gradually changes from an undefined ridge to an axial side. Here the marked cart track turns sharp right (poorly marked) and starts to descend more visibly. At the end of the descent, you come to a wide cart track, which you follow in a few steps to an asphalted road, which you follow to the right. Next, while looking at Kum and climbing past a few houses, ascend to a marked crossroads, where continue right towards Sveta Mountain pasture - along the road (straight ahead Sveta mountain pasture - along the footpath).
There is a cross-climb over a scenic slope, and then the road turns into the forest. A little further on, a view opens up to the right towards Golava, Kamnik and Mrzlica, and the road leads to a marked crossroads.
Continue slightly left along a slightly wider asphalt road (right Reška planina, Gradišče. . . ), which leads us across the north-west slopes of Šterbenkel Hill, higher up past the ski resort, and then we arrive on the slopes of Javor Peak. At a few crossroads follow the main road, and when you reach a slightly larger crossroads by the NOB memorial, go right (left Sveta Mountain pasture) and quickly reach the church of St. Lenart on Vrheh.
A few 10 metres further on is the former mountain lodge Vrhe, which has been closed for several years and is privately owned.
