Podmrzlica, Matke - Mrzlica

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Celje motorway take the Šempeter v Savinjski Dolini exit and drive through the town, then turn right at the church and follow the road all the way to the village of Matke. Go through the village of Matke and at the crossroads at the end of Matke we continue straight (left Hom). Soon we come to a crossroads where we continue straight (left Marija Reka). After a few metres we come to a meadow where we park the car (there used to be a beehive here).

Path description:
From the parking lot, head straight along the road to the fork. We continue along the asphalt road, where we soon come to a house and signs directing us towards Mrzlica (1h 30 min). We follow the road until we reach the saddle between Kamnik and Mrzlica, where we are again met by signs directing us onwards. The path passes into the woods past a chapel. After a good thirty minutes we reach the fork of the Kal and Mrzlica trails. We take the upper (steep) path to Mrzlica. The path starts flat, but soon begins to climb steeply and becomes quite a challenge for the knees. Towards the top, the path flattens out and we reach a dirt road, where we continue to the left. After 5 minutes you reach home. The top is about 2 minutes away.
