Podpeč - Sveta Ana

Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Koper motorway, take the Brezovica exit and turn left along the old road towards Vrhnika. While still in Brezovica, you will see signs for Podpeč, which will direct you to the left. Continue through Vnanje and Notranje Gorice to Podpeč, where at the crossroads turn left towards the village of Jezero. Just after the petrol station, which is on the left side of the road, on the right side of the road you will see a steep road branch leading to a nearby residential house. At the crossroads there are signs for Sveta Anna and a suitable parking space for 3 to 4 cars.
b) From Ljubljana, take the road to Črna vas, and then continue to Podpeč, where you join the road from Brezovica. In Podpeč, turn left again (towards Jezero), and just after the petrol station, which is on the left side of the road, on the right side you will see a steep road branch leading to a nearby residential house. At the crossroads there are signs for Sveta Ana and a suitable parking space for 3 to 4 cars.

Path description:
From Podpeč, actually from Jezero, as the starting point is just after the sign marking the beginning of Jezero, take the steep road that climbs up to the nearby residential house. Go around the house on the left and then, at the fork in the tracks, take the right-hand one, which is the one that begins a moderate climb through the forest. Walk for a while along the cart track, and then the signs for Sveta Anna direct you to the right onto a slightly steeper footpath, which is joined by the marked path from Jezero at a slightly higher level.
Continue straight on the slightly less steep path, which soon leads us out of the forest to a small saddle, where we join the wider and more frequented path from Preser. Here, continue to the right and after 2 minutes of further walking, you will reach the Church of St Anne, which offers a beautiful view of the Ljubljana Marshes.
