Podpeca (Mitnek) - Koča na Pikovem

Access to the starting point:
a) Drive to Črna na Koroškem (to get here from Raven na Koroškem or from Šoštanj via the Spodnje Sleme pass), then continue driving to Koprivna and Podpeca. We continue along the Meži River, and we drive along it to the crossroads where the road to Podpeca and Dom na Peci branches off to the right. Higher up, near the Mitnek homestead, a macadam road branches off to the right towards Koča na Pikovem. Park here in a suitable place near the crossroads.

b) Drive to Luce (to get here from Mozirje or from Kamnik via the Volovljek (Kranjski Rak) pass), then continue driving towards the Logar valley. In the village Solčava, leave the main road towards the Logar valley and continue driving to the right towards Podolševa, the pass Spodnje Sleme and Črna na Koroškem. The road then loses its asphalt surface, and after a few kilometres we turn right at the crossroads in Podolševa towards Črna na Koroškem. The road, which continues to climb mainly in a transverse direction, leads us after a while to the Spodnje Sleme Pass. From the pass the road starts to descend and we follow it in the direction of Črna na Koroške. After a few kilometres, when we descend into the valley, we turn right at the crossroads towards Črna na Koroškem (Koprivna on the left). We follow the main road down to Črna na Koroškem, and the road first leads us past the turn-off into the Tople valley, and then a little lower down to the turn-off for the road to Podpeca and Doma na Peci. Higher up, near the Mitnek homestead, a macadam road branches off to the right towards Koča na Pikovem. Park here in a suitable place near the crossroads.

Path description:
From the crossroads, take the road to the right in the direction of Nagersko and Koča na Pikovem (straight ahead Mitnek and the road that continues towards Pec). At first, walk through the forest, and after a few minutes you will arrive out of the forest at the viewpoint of Nagersko, where there are a few farmhouses. Behind the houses, the road returns to the forest, and we follow it to the Church of St Helena and a few steps further on to the Cottage at Pikovem.
