Access to the starting point:
From Dobrova, Horjul, Gorenje vas or Črni Vrho, drive to Polhov Gradec, more precisely to the crossroads by the main bus station in Polhov Gradec. Park in a suitable place near the station, preferably in the parking lot by the bridge over the river Božná.
Path description:
From the starting point, continue along the main road in the direction of Ljubljana for a short time, and then after the Gostilna pri Pratkarju, notice the mountain direction signs for Grmada, Belica, Katarina and Tošč, which direct us to the left, to the path that continues along the brick fence. After a short climb, step onto the asphalt road and follow it to the right, but walk along it for only a few steps, as the signs then lead you left, onto what is initially still quite a wide path. The path, from which we have a nice view of Polhov Gradec and St. Lovrenec, then passes into the forest and for some time climbs mostly crosswise. Higher up, we cross the stream of the Frjetův gráven, and then climb a few steps to a meadow where the path leads us along a wooden fence. The path across the meadow quickly leads us to a macadam road, which we follow to the right, and we walk along it for a minute or two to reach the Mountain Home on Ravnek.
We continue along the road for a short distance, and then the marked path crosses it a few times. Higher up, we return to the road, which leads us to the hamlet of Ravnek, where we arrive at a small crossroads behind the last house, where we continue slightly right (slightly left to St Ursula).
Only a few 10 steps further on, the road splits again, and this time we continue slightly to the right (slightly to the left marked path to Grmada). We continue our ascent along the unmarked cart track, from which, after a few metres, two cart track branch off to the right. The first cart track is more grassy, while the second one, which we are following, is more rocky. The stones underfoot are soon replaced by earth, and in a few minutes cart track leads us to a ridge where we reach the marked path Dvor - Grmada and follow it to the right in the direction of Dvora.
The path leads us past a hunting observation post, and before it enters the forest and begins to descend, we leave it and continue slightly to the right, to a place where a beautiful view opens up.
Before entering the forest, it is worth stopping and looking around a little, as the view extends from Blegoš to Julian Alps and, of course, to the nearby Grmada. When you enter the forest (here on the left side you can see another cart track - in the description the unmarked path from Dvora), the path climbs moderately through a partly pine grove, then the forest thins out and you reach the top of Kuclja, from where a beautiful view of part of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps opens up before you reach the top of Kuclja. If you want some more views to the south and west, continue from the top along the path that starts to descend gently to the south, and in a minute or two you will reach a nice viewpoint, where there is also a small bench.
Description and pictures refer to the situation in 2015 (March).
