Poljana (Završnica) - Turška jama v Gozdašnici

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice, take the exit Lesce, where at the roundabout take the old road in the direction of Žirovnice and Jesenice. After a few km of driving, pass the crossroads where the road to Žirovnica branches off to the right. After crossing the Završnica viaduct, you will see a turn-off on the right, which you should take (turn sharp right). Immediately you will come to a small crossroads where you turn left, and in the next one (after about 50 m) turn right, in the direction of Završnica. After a short descent, the road climbs slightly for a while, then flattens out, and leads to a place where a macadam road branches off to the left towards Valvasor's house. Park here, nearby.

Path description:
From the parking lot, turn left onto the macadam road leading to Valvasor's House and follow it for about half an hour. When you reach a large, sharp (V) left turn, or serpentine, you will see rocks on the right side of the road, and a rock-walled road edge. Here, in the middle of the bend, leave the road and find a forest track on the right, leading in a SE direction. After 5 minutes of crossing the steep south-west slope of Gozdašnica, the path climbs slightly, and in the rock face above us we see two entrances to a cave called Turška jama. Enter the cave through one of the entrances (you will need a torch to see the cave). After seeing the cave, you can climb a few more metres along the path to a small ridge, from where you will have some views of the villages beyond the Brezniških Peči ridge, and of the valley below.
