Access to the starting point:
a) Drive to Gorenje village in the Poljanska valley, from where you take the exit from the roundabout next to the Petrol petrol station in the route Vrhnika and Horjula. Continue through Dolenjo and Gorenja Dobrava and Todraž, and then the road starts to climb steeply. As the road levels out, you reach a crossroads by the bus station Prelesje, where you turn left towards Prelesje (straight ahead Lučine and Polhov Gradec). After the crossroads, the road climbs slightly and quickly leads to the village of Prelesje, where the route described above begins. Park in a suitable place on the roadside in front of or behind the settlement.
b) Drive to Polhov Gradec, then follow the signs for Gorenjska vas. Higher up, we reach the settlement of Suhi Dol, where the road starts to descend towards Poljanska dolina, and we follow it to Lučine, or the end of the settlement, from where we continue to the right towards Prelesje. After the crossroads, the road climbs slightly and quickly leads to the settlement Prelesje, where the route described above begins. Park in a suitable place on the roadside in front of or behind the settlement.
c) Drive into Horjul, then follow the signs for Šentjošt nad Horjul. After Vrzdenec, the road starts to climb more visibly and soon leads to a crossroads where we continue to the right on the priority road in the direction of Suhe Dol, Butajnova and Gorenjja vas (straight on to Šentjošt and Žiri). There is some downhill, then we merge with the road from Polhovy Gradec, and we continue towards Gorenjja vas. Higher up, we reach the settlement of Suhi Dol, where the road starts to descend towards the Poljanska valley, and we follow it to Lučine, or the end of this settlement, from where we continue right towards Prelesje. After the crossroads, the road climbs slightly and quickly leads to the settlement Prelesje, where the route described above begins. Park in a suitable place on the roadside in front of or behind the settlement.
Path description:
Through Prelesje we walk with beautiful views, but after the settlement the road turns into a forest and after a short crossing leads us to a small valley where the road turns left. At the part where the road turns left, leave it and continue right on the unmarked cart track, which climbs along the Preleški graben stream. Climb for a few minutes along the stream, which dries up on dry days, then take the left fork cart track and cross Preleški graben. On the other side, cross the climb, and at a few forks choose the path that climbs more visibly (right at the first fork, left at the second, and right again at the third). After a few minutes' ascent, you reach an asphalt road which you follow down to the left (the farmhouse on the right), descending only a few 10 paces, and then take the right fork cart track, which climbs above the aforementioned farmhouse. Above the homestead, we return to the forest, where we climb steeply at first, then the path is laid and leads us to the top grassy slope of the Sivka, which we quickly climb to the registration box of the Friends of the Sivka, and from it, in beautiful views, to the nearby summit.
Description and pictures refer to the situation in 2019 (February).
