Preska - Slavkov dom na Golem brdu

Access to the starting point:
a) First, drive into Ljubljana, then continue along the Celovška road towards Medvode. When you arrive in Medvode, turn left at the first traffic light over the railway line towards Gole Brdo, Žleb and Preska. After the railway line, turn right on the main road towards Preska, and follow the main road until the first road fork to the left. Continue through the village, and when you see the sports ground of the nearby primary school on your right, turn left onto the Road to Žlebeh. When the residential houses on the right hand side of the road end, you will come to a parking area, where you park.
b) From Škofja Loka, Kranj or Vodice, drive to Medvode and from there continue to Ljubljana. At the last traffic light in Medvode, which is located about 100 m further from the Hofer store, turn right across the railway line in the direction of Goleg Brdo, Žleb and Preska. After the railway line, turn right along the main road towards Preska, and follow the main road to the first road junction to the left. Continue through the village, and when you see the sports ground of the nearby primary school on your right, turn left onto the Road to Žlebeh. When the residential houses on the right hand side of the road end, you will come to a parking area, where you park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road on the left towards Slavkovy dom na Golem Brdu. At the last house, which we pass on the left, the asphalt ends, and we continue along the macadam road, which after a few 10 metres turns into cart track. With beautiful views of the "Šmarnogorska" Grmada, we quickly arrive in the forest, where we are directed by the signs. Walk along the forest paths for a while and then join the slightly wider cart track, which you leave a little further on as the markings lead you slightly to the right. There is a short descent to an asphalt road, which is only crossed, and then along a slightly more overgrown path in a few 10 paces you reach another road, which you follow to the right. From the road, a little further to the right, a road branches off to the nearby ornamental nursery Žiher - Špur, and we continue straight on, first crossing a small stream, and then arriving in the settlement Žlebe. On the left side of the road, next to a nearby residential house, you will then see mountain signs that direct you sharp left (the trail off the road is a few metres further from the sign). There is a moderate climb through the woods for a few minutes, then you will come out of the woods, where you will continue to the left and walk along the orchard to the nearby house and the asphalt road.
Once on the road, the path from Medne joins us on the left, and we continue right along the asphalt road in the route we already know. The way forward leads us past the goat house and the cross, and then the village of Seničica ends. With beautiful views of the surrounding hills, we quickly reach another cross, after which the village of Golo Brdo begins. A little higher, at a small crossroads, continue slightly to the right and, overlooking the Church of the Holy Trinity, you reach a hamlet of a few houses. Somewhere in the middle of the hamlet, the asphalt road starts to descend and then splits into two parts, where you continue slightly left along a descending macadam road. During the descent, a marked path branches off to the right towards Jeterbenk and further towards Katarina, and from this crossroads we continue down the road to a crossroads near Slavkov's home. From this crossroads, continue straight ahead and walk a few steps to the Slavkov home on Golem Brdo.
