Prešnica - Hrpeljska gora

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Koper take the exit Kozina, then take the old road to Koper. When you reach the viaduct of the motorway, turn left towards Prešnica. At Prešnica we see the first markings, and we follow the markings through the village. At a small crossroads in the village, go right towards a marked parking area (straight ahead marked path to Slavnik), which is still about 500 m away on a narrow asphalt road.
b) From the Koper - Ljubljana motorway, take the Kastelec exit and then follow the old road towards Kozina. The road then leads past the village of Petrinje, and about 2 km after the village, from the junction under the motorway viaduct, turn right in the direction of Prešnica. In Prešnica we see the first markings, and we follow the markings through the village. At a small crossroads in the village, go right towards a marked parking area (straight ahead marked path to Slavnik), which is still about 500 m away on a narrow asphalt road.

Path description:
From the parking lot return to Prešnica, then from the crossroads where the road to Slavnik branches off to the right, the main road continues to the left, continue straight up the narrower road, which continues past the chapel carved into the wall of the house. From the road ascending to the last house we have a fine view of the lower part of the village with the church of St Jedrt, and from the last house we continue along the cart track, and a little further on we join another cart track, which we follow quickly up to the railway line. Cross the rather busy railway line carefully and continue climbing the cart track on the other side for some time. At a higher level you reach a dirt road, which you follow to the right, and at a nearby crossroads go left in the direction of the hunting lodge. The road becomes slightly steeper and we follow it all the way to the hunting lodge below Glavica.
From the hunting lodge, walk to the nearby wider macadam road, which you follow in the direction of Slavnika and Koča pri Lipa. After 10 minutes we reach a small crossroads where we continue along the lower left road (straight Slavnik), which descends only slightly. There is a short steep climb, then the road starts to descend, and during the descent you will reach a point where the path to the left branches off to the Hrpelje mountain.
Continue the ascent along the marked path, which climbs moderately through the forest, and within 10 minutes of further walking you will reach the summit.
Prešnica - hunting lodge 45 minutes, hunting lodge - Hrpeljska gora 35 minutes.
