Punat - Veli Vrh

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Rupa - Rijeka / Rijeka or Zagreb - Rijeka / Rijeka, drive towards Rijeka, and from there follow the signs for Krk Island. When the motorway or expressway in the back ends, drive down to the Krk Bridge and then continue to Omisalj, Njivice, Malinska, Krk and Punat. At Punat, leave the road leading to Baška and turn right at the roundabout towards the Punat and Stara Baška exit. Continue through Punat and park your vehicle in a suitable place at the very end of the settlement.

Path description:
From Punat, where you can see the signs for Veli vrh, first walk for about ten minutes along the macadam path, which then turns into a well-marked hiking trail. The hiking trail then joins the macadam path, which is quickly left again when you head in a straight direction. Follow the slightly rockier path to a fork where you turn left. The footpath descends slightly for a short distance to a fork where you turn right. At the Žičevo fork turn right again. You will quickly reach the Kaljužina fork, where you will turn right again. From this fork, continue walking uphill through uncultivated countryside to reach your destination in about half an hour.
Veli vrh offers views to the west towards Krk and further towards the islands of Plavnik and Cres.
