Rechnitz (Badesee) - Donatikappele (above Rechnitz)

Access to the starting point:
Drive to Rogašovce, then continue in the direction of Kuzma. After Sotina, the road to Kuzma turns right uphill, and we continue straight towards Austria. As you drive through Austria, first follow the signs for Jennersdorf, Güssing and then to St. Michael im Burgenland, where you turn right towards Großpetersdorf. After this village, we reach the main road Sombotel / Szombathely - Oberwart / Felsőőr, and we follow it to the right in the direction of Hungary. Leave the main road at the exit for Rechnitz, and follow the signs for Badesee to the aforementioned place. Park about 100 m in front of the lake in a parking lot on the side of the road.

Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to the lake, then continue along the left, western side of the lake. When you reach the other side of the lake, a path branches off slightly to the left, leading to the Chapel of St Donatus / Donatikapelle.
Continue along the above-mentioned path, which is marked for Hirschenstein, and we continue cross-climbing on the cart track. A few minutes further on, we reach the wider cart track, where we go left twice, passing a grove of young larch trees on the left. Follow cart track, then climb cross-country to the left, and when you reach the tarmac road, cross it carefully and continue along it to the fork in the side road, where there are signs for the Chapel of St Donatus. Turn sharp left here and continue along the forest path, which runs parallel to the nearby dirt road. After a few minutes of climbing through the forest, you will reach the Chapel of St Donatus.
