Rechnitz (Badesee) - Irrotkő / Geschriebenstein

Access to the starting point:
Drive to Rogašovce, then continue in the direction of Kuzma. After Sotina, the road to Kuzma turns right uphill, and we continue straight towards Austria. As you drive through Austria, first follow the signs for Jennersdorf, Güssing and then to St. Michael im Burgenland, where you turn right towards Großpetersdorf. After this village, we reach the main road Sombotel / Szombathely - Oberwart / Felsőőr, and we follow it to the right in the direction of Hungary. Leave the main road at the exit for Rechnitz, and follow the signs for Badesee to the aforementioned place. Park about 100 m in front of the lake in a parking lot on the side of the road.

Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to the lake, then continue along the left, western side of the lake. When you reach the other side of the lake, a path branches off slightly to the left, leading to the Chapel of St Donatus / Donatikapelle, and you continue along the north side of the lake to a crossroads by the guesthouse, where you go left (right) to return to the starting point on the east side of the lake.
The way ahead is along a winding road, passing a large tower on the right and walking along the Rechnitzbach stream. After a while the road splits and we continue along the road on the right, with signs for Geschriebenstein. The road continues to climb moderately, but at an altitude of just over 500 m the road turns sharp left and then switches to a slope. Continue on the dirt road, following the yellow-red markings at a few crossroads. When the path is laid, go past a barrier and then descend gently to a small pass, where you will briefly follow the same route as the forest cycle path. The cycle path then continues along the ridge, and we continue slightly to the right and descend a little further along cart track. There is a slight uphill crossing and we reach a minor dirt road, which we follow to a nearby crossroads.
From the crossroads go straight on to cart track, and a little higher up you will see sparse waymarks along the way. Higher up, take the second road and follow it briefly to the left, turning quickly right and following the right-hand bend. Once back on the road, cross it and then continue over a slightly overgrown section to reach cart track and follow it to the right. There are a few more forks where you follow the few signs and reach a wider path where you join the path that starts at the Geschriebenstein Passhöhe.
Here, bear right and, after a gentle to moderate ascent, reach the summit in a few minutes' walk, which is located on the border between Austria and Hungary.
