Rečica ob Paki - Gora Oljka

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Celje motorway, take the Šempeter exit and follow the road towards Polzela. At Polzela, the signs for Gora Oljka direct you to the right. The road then leads to the village of Podvin at Polzela, where you will see the next sign for Mount Oljeka. Here we continue straight on (although Gora Oljka says right) and follow the road through the level crossing at the end of the village of Podgora. Just a few metres after the crossing, we reach the village Rečica ob Paki, where we also see the signs Podgora, Mali and Veliki vrh to the right. Turn right here and follow the road back across the railway line and then park somewhere on the roadside so as not to obstruct traffic (there are no suitable parking spaces).

Path description:
Soon you will see markings along the road, leading you to the village. There is a marked trail through the village, partly on the road and partly on foot. When the road ends, continue past the last house in the village to cart track, which ascends crosswise. After a short climb, the path leads to a dirt road, which you follow up to the left. After a few minutes' climb, along this road, you come to a crossroads of three cart tracks. The first one ends after a few steps, the second one is marked and the third one turns sharp right. The ascent continues along the marked cart track, which soon turns into a pleasant footpath. A 10-minute climb takes you to a crossroads, where you turn right in the direction of Gora Oljka. Continue climbing moderately through the forest on the cart track, which leads us slightly higher to a forest road. Here, turn right and continue along the road, which leads you to the mountain home on Mount Oljeka within two minutes of further walking.
