Ressnig - Aussicht Petelinz

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Ljubelj (Tržič) and then continue in the direction of Klagenfurt / Klagenfurt. After the Ljubelj tunnel, the road starts to descend and we follow it to the village of Podgora / Unterbergen (Podgora is the first village after Podljubelj / Unterloibl). In the middle of Podgora, pay attention as we will turn right in the direction "zum Hofer". After a short descent, you quickly reach Borovlje / Ferlach, where you join the main road just a little further on, which you follow to the right. Follow the main road for just over 10 metres, then turn left before the bridge over the Borovnice / Grießbach to the village of Resnica / Ressnig. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead, and we follow the road to the marked parking lot in front of the Borovlje Hydroelectric Power Station.

Path description:
Before the parking lot, a slightly narrower asphalt road branches off to the left and we start our trip. Walk along the road for a few 10 steps and then the signs for the "Peace march in the Rose" direct you to the right onto the asphalt path, which leads quickly up to the Borovlje Hydroelectric Power Station. From here you have a beautiful view of the central Karawanks and the Borovlje Barrier Lake / Ferlacher Stausee and towards the Humberk Castle / Hollenburg. Continue over the dam over the Drava River, then turn left on the other side and climb for a short distance along the edge of the lake. The trail then turns slightly to the right and splits into two parts. Continue right along a wide path that climbs moderately through the forest. A little higher up, a path forks off to the right towards a chapel a few minutes away, and we continue to the left and follow the broad path to the next marked crossroads, where we take a sharp right in the direction of "Petelinz" (straight ahead Žihpolje / Maria Rain).
The faint road gradually turns into a wide cart track, which continues through the forest for the most part. A little higher up, another path from Žihpolje joins from the left. Continue straight on here, then a little further on to reach the next crossroads, where you continue slightly right (slightly left St. Urh / St. Ulrich (only marked Rosentalmarsch on the signs)).
A few minutes further on, you reach the first viewpoint with a bench, but the view is not very good due to the trees nearby. From the first bench, continue in the direction of "Petelinz" and start a moderate to steep descent towards the second, more luxurious viewpoint with a bench, which offers a fine view of the Drava, the Borovel and the Karavanke.
