Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the asphalted road towards the Bellevue Hotel, which soon turns off to the left onto the marked path to Rodica, and we follow the road almost to the aforementioned hotel. Just before the hotel, the signs for Brown Rock, Vogel and Šijo direct us left onto a wide path, which soon splits into two parts. Continue on the right marked path, which after a short climb leads to a larger meadow.
The path returns to the forest, and at the next crossroads we take the path slightly to the left (direction Vogel), which then changes from cart track to a footpath, which ascends along the edge of the meadow. Above the meadow, the path re-enters the woods and gradually begins to climb steeply. For a while the path climbs relatively steeply through the forest, then it thins out and the path leads to the wider cart track and just a few metres further on to a macadam road. Follow the road to the left for about 30 metres, then the signs for Vogel direct you right onto a footpath that begins to climb steeply through the forest. At a higher level, the tractor track logging trail joins and soon splits into two. Continue along the right marked path, which soon leads to a forest road, which you only cross.
The path then climbs through lane of bushes and a short scenic slope, before turning into dense forest, through which we climb for some time. Higher up, you come to a small avalanche cirque below Storeč vrh, which you go round in a semicircle to the right. On the other side of cirque the path climbs steeply and leads to the Vogel plateau. Here the trail continues with some short descents and ascents, and we soon arrive in the immediate vicinity of the ski slope.
A little further on, the trail forks to the left, where the trail to Šijo branches off, and we continue to the right in the direction of the Ski Hotel on the Vogel. After a short crossing and then a steep climb, we arrive at the aforementioned hotel.
At the Ski Hotel, head west and follow the macadam road past the Merjasec mountain hut. The road begins to descend gently and leads to a crossroads. Take the road to the right after the signs "Komna, Cheese factory Posledni Vogel". The road continues to descend gently and soon we are at the crossroads again. This time take the road to the left after the signs "Pl Zadnji Vogel, Komna". After only a few tens of metres of ascent, the inscription on the rock (Vogel) directs us to a footpath that goes right into the forest. The path through the forest runs parallel to the road and begins to descend gently. When you rejoin the road, follow the signs "Pl. Last Vogel". The road then crosses the cable car "Last Vogel" and leads to the crossroads at the cheese cottage "Last Vogel".
Continue straight on past the cheese cottage and follow the "Komna" signs (the path to Vogel branches off to the left). The path then leads through dwarf pines into the woods and begins to descend slightly again. To the right, a path branches off, which leads into the valley towards the Hotel Zlatorog, and we continue along the left path, which soon leads us out of the forest and opens up to beautiful views of the surrounding peaks. The path starts to climb again here and runs mostly on grassy terrain surrounded by rare dwarf pines. The path slowly starts to turn to the left and leads to a crossroads. To the left the path leads to the Globoko saddle (1828 m), and we continue to the right towards the Konjski saddle. Here we start climbing up the left side of the valley, with the most beautiful view of Konjski vrh and Bohinjska Migovec. When you reach Konjsko sedlo , continue to the left after the "Vogel" markers. The trail then crosses the slopes below the summit of Meja (1996 m). As we start to approach the neighbouring peak - Rušnati vrh (1915 m), the slopes above us will become slightly less steep. Leave the marked path here and start climbing up the scree to the right. The slope becomes quite steep and the ridge is reached without climbing slightly to the right of Rušnatý vrh. On the ridge where you reach an unmarked path, continue left and follow the grassy terrain to reach Rušnati vrh in a few minutes.
