Ribnica na Pohorju - Ribniška koča (by road)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the road Maribor - Dravograd, before the village of Brezno, turn left in the direction of Podvelka, Ribnica na Pohorju and Ribniška hut. After the bridge over the Drava River, we arrive at Podvelka, and we continue along the road in the direction of Ribnica na Pohorju. After about 10 km from the bridge over the Drava, we reach the centre of Ribnica na Pohorju, where we turn left and then park a little further on in the parking lot in the centre of the village. The parking lot is located a little further from the parish church of St. Jernej.
b) From Dravograd drive towards Maribor, after Radlje ob Dravi leave the main road at the roundabout towards Maribor and continue driving towards Vuhred, Ribnica na Pohorje and Ribniška koča. After the bridge over the Drava River, we arrive at Vuhred, and we continue along the road in the direction of Ribnica na Pohorje. After about 10 km from the bridge over the Drava we reach the centre of Ribnica na Pohorju, where we turn right and then park a little further on in the parking lot in the centre of the village. The parking lot is located a little further from the parish church of St. Jernej.

Path description:
From the centre of Ribnica na Pohorju, continue along the ascending asphalt road, from which a marked path soon branches off to the right, and we continue along the road that turns into a forest above the settlement. The road, which turns left, leads us a little further to a crossroads from which we continue on the right road in the direction of Ribniška koča (on the left homesteads Jakob, Kop and Gosak). There is a cross-climb to the right, where the road crosses a few small streams, and then slowly starts to turn more and more to the left, where you also cross a marked path.
Continue straight ahead through a large clearing and then through lane of a forest. Once out of the wods again, continue left at the crossroads in the direction of Koča na Pesniku, which is only a short walk away.
From the hut, return to the main road, and at the nearby crossroads, continue slightly left towards the Ribnica hut. A little further on, follow the road slightly to the right, and straight ahead at a slightly higher altitude. After this crossroads, you will soon reach a parking lot at the foot of the Ribniško Pohorje ski resort. Crossing the ski slopes, the road then turns sharp right and leads us higher up to the pass between Jezerski vrh on the left and Mali Črni vrh on the right.
Here, a marked trail branches off the road to the left, leading on to Rogla via Jezerski vrh, and we continue to the right and, after about 10 minutes of further walking along the road parallel to the marked trail, we reach the Ribniška hut, enjoying increasingly beautiful views.
