Path description:
From the parking lot in the centre of Rude, continue towards Jastrebarsko (south) through the village. Walk along the asphalt road for about ten minutes, or until you reach the right turn-off, where it says Vinski potok - Nerze. Here, turn right onto a parallel road and follow the asphalt uphill at a sharp bend. Pass a few houses and you will have left the town of Rude. Now our route starts to climb quite steeply on the asphalt towards the village of Braslovje.
In Braslovje, the path is laid. At the first crossroads go straight ahead, at the second crossroads go slightly right uphill. After the last farm (there is a loud dog) we will finally reach the forest.
In the forest, our path will start to climb steeply. When we reach a brick spring, an unofficial very steep shortcut goes off to the right, and we go left to reach a wider cart track. This will take us out of the woods to a crossroads where we will just step onto the tarmac and quickly go right back into the woods.
Now follow cart track, which is still laid for a while, and the forest through which you are climbing thins out in a few places, opening up a view to the east. On this part of the route there are "dirty-red" electricity lines leading to the hut. When the cart track starts to climb steeply through the forest on the left-hand bend, leave it and go right up the slope.
Here you will start to climb steeply up the path, which gradually turns into cart track. Higher up, as the steepness increases, we will start to climb in serpentines.
After one serpentine, the path will turn right to the east and pass into a thin forest. Here the ground will again become very rough and somewhat dangerous to slip on. This will lead to a ridge where we will finally have a little rest on the sloping part.
The path along the ridge is only level as far as the entrance to the forest, and then it starts to climb steeply through the forest again until you reach a crossroads where you join up with the Hoffmann path. Here we are one minute away from the Željezničar home, which we bypass. There is still a steep and very slippery path to the top of Oštrc. It takes about five minutes to reach the top. During the ascent, a beautiful view opens up several times to the north as far as Pohorje. The summit is in the forest and has no view, but a minute further on there is a cross and from it a view to the south.
