Path description:
From the starting point, walk to the pedestrian crossing, where you carefully cross the main road Škofja Loka - Železniki, and then walk along the pavement in the direction of Železniki. You will soon reach a crossroads where a road sign for Topolje, Zabrekve and Nemilje directs you to the right on the ascending road. At first we pass a few houses and the parish church of St Peter in Selce, then the road continues for some time through the forest, and higher up, over several viewing slopes, from where we have a beautiful view of the mountains on the right bank of the Selška Sora.
Higher up, we reach the settlement Topolje, where a path from the valley of the Jablenovica stream joins almost imperceptibly from the right, and we continue past houses to climb above the settlement.
Above the village, at the last goat house on the right, the cart track road branches off to the right, bypassing Kucelj (837 m) on the south side and then joining the asphalt road on the east side of the hill, which runs along the north side of the hill.
You can continue along the above-mentioned cart track, which is usually unpaved in winter, or along the asphalt road. A little further on from the point where the two paths join, there is a marked path from St. Jederti in Lajša and Podblice on the left.
Continue along the asphalt road, which then leads to a small crossroads by the sign. Continue slightly left, and then, with increasing views of Karawanks, reach the village of Zabrekve, where the signs for St. Mohorja direct you sharp right onto a dirt track. The path forks behind the buildings of a nearby house, and we can either continue left along the track, or straight ahead along cart track. After a few minutes, the two paths merge, and then, after a meadow with a view, we reach the Church of Sts.
Description and pictures refer to the situation in 2018 (March).
