Selo (log cabin TIC Selo) - Sveti Benedikt (Kančevci)

Access to the starting point:
From the road Murska Sobota - Moravske Toplice, drive to the settlement Martjanci, from where turn left at the crossroads in the route Sebeborci (right from the route Moravske Toplice). Continue through Sebeborci, Andrejci, Fokovci to Sele, where the road starts to descend. Cross the Kobilje stream, and just a little further on you will reach a parking lot, next to the TIC Selo log cabin, where you park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to the log cabin where the stamp of the extended Slovenian Mountain Trail is located, and from there continue along the beautifully maintained walking trail, which will take you to the Rotunda of St. Nicholas in Sel in a few minutes.
From the rotunda, continue for a few 10 steps towards the nearby cemetery, then go slightly left and descend a little to the nearby mlaka, where you will step onto an asphalt road. Follow the road to the right and start climbing up it, accompanied by the occasional educational boards of the Selo Geographical Educational Trail. A little further on, you reach a hamlet of a few houses, where the Filo fruit farm is located. Here the road turns right and a little further on becomes macadam, leading us through a larger orchard. When the orchard ends, we enter the forest, where a few steps off the path is Makotrov breg, and we continue left in the direction of the Pomurska mountain trail. In the forest, the road changes transiently to cart track, but after a while it changes again to a worse road. When we leave the forest, we reach a crossroads and we continue in the same direction, following the asphalt road. At the hamlet of Gospodov Breg, a little to the left of the path, the road loses its asphalt surface but continues in roughly the same direction. A little further on, the path passes into a forest, and a little further on, on the right-hand side, the forest is replaced by a larger arable field. When you return to the forest, leave the road and continue slightly to the right on a marked footpath, which continues along a track for a short distance, and soon you are back on the road, which you follow to the right. The dirt road leads downhill to an asphalt road, which we cross carefully and continue on the path through the forest. A little further on, we reach another asphalt road where we merge with the marked trail from Moravske Toplice, and we follow the road to the right. We quickly leave the forest on a slight incline and then, with beautiful views reaching as far as the eastern part of Karawanks, we arrive in a few minutes at the Church of St Benedict in Kančevci.
