Skrilje - Source Skrivski izvir (Skrlanka)

Access to the starting point:
a) Take the expressway from Razdrteg towards Nova Gorica and take the Ajdovščina exit. Then turn left at the junction towards Nova Gorica and follow the main road through the village of Cesta, after one kilometre turn into Skrilje, then follow the signs for the primary school where there is a parking lot.
b) From Nova Gorica take the exit Selo, after Dobravlje turn left at the second exit into Skrilje.

Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the road between the primary school and the church straight ahead, then keep right. The loop starts at a crossroads (150 m west of the church), when a grassy cart track turns off the asphalt, where the first trail marker (a wooden arrow with a blue letter "S") is located. After the initial flat part, continue over a concrete bridge, turn right and the trail starts to climb gently. Follow the path as it winds through the forest, before leaving it to reach the point where the circular part of the path begins. Keep following the signs that direct you along the straight path, but soon turn left uphill and leave the narrower area of the village, passing farmland. After a few minutes of climbing, you come to a crossroads of tracks where an arrow points to the right and immediately up to the left, towards the village Stomaž. The ascent is mostly moderate, with flat parts in between, but the environment is varied, ranging from woodland, hay meadows and cultivated areas. At the height of the village Stomaž, which appears on our right, we are accompanied by some interesting wooden buildings, and then begins a slightly steeper section, which runs mainly through woodland, with one large meadow in between, after which we have one last climb before the path, with cart track, branches off to the left - through a wooden fence and then on the left, along the former parcel demarcation. Just afterwards we come to a well-maintained spring, where there is also a registration book, and from here the path crosses another stream and passes into a meadow, where a gentle descent begins. The path here is very comfortable, the environment is varied throughout and mostly unspoilt. If you follow the signs carefully, you will easily approach Skrilje, towards the end of which you will find a footbridge over a sometimes dry stream and a short climb, after which you will cross a macadam road and continue along the meadow one last time into the woods, towards the point where the circular part of the trail ends.
For the last 500 m return along the same path as at the start. The trail is suitable for everyone, in all seasons, and can also be a nice starting point for climbs to Čaven, Mala gora or Kucelj.
