Slavkov dom na Golem Brdu - Sveti Jakob

Access to the starting point:
a) From Celovška cesta in Ljubljana, take Medvode, where at the first traffic light turn left over the railway line, then after the railway line turn left, then follow the signs for Slavkov dom na Golem Brdu (Slavkov's home at Golem Brdo). Park in the small parking lot near the Nightingale's Home on Golem Brdo, next to the ecological island.
b) From the Gorenjska motorway, take the exit Vodice, Kranj or Škofja Loka, take the exit Medvode, and then continue driving towards Ljubljana. At the last traffic light in Medvode, turn right towards Gole Brdo, and after the railway line, turn left, then follow the signs for Slavkov dom na Golem Brdo. Park in the small parking lot near the Slavkov Home on Golem Brdo, next to the ecological island.

Path description:
From the starting point, continue along the left road (right Slavkov dom 1 minute), and from there take a quick left on the marked path in the direction of Jeterbenk, Katarina and Grmada. At first, climb steeply up the cart track, which turns into a slightly steeper footpath after the quarry. A little further on, we join another cart track, and we continue to follow the signs for Jeterbenk and Katarina. The gently sloping path leads us past a cross and an oak tree, and then begins to climb again. We continue climbing for a few minutes on cart track, then the markings lead us to a forest path, which we follow to a marked crossroads.
From the crossroads, continue straight towards Katarina, where you will see a yellow X by the path (the yellow markings indicate Jakob's path). There is some cross-climbing and you arrive at the next crossroads, where the marked path to Jeterbenk (along the ridge) branches off to the right, and we continue straight towards Katarina. When we leave the forest a little further on, we also get on cart track, and after cart track we cross the grassy slopes to the junction with the macadam road. Follow the road uphill a little more, then reach the chapel with Our Lady of Sorrows 7, where the path from Jeterbenk and the path from the starting point Žlebe join from the right.
Continue straight ahead on the winding dirt road leading to Katarina, and after a few minutes' further walking you will reach the Church of St Katarina.
After the church, the signs for the Jacob's Path direct you to the right, where you first walk along the walls, then after a field the path turns left and climbs crosswise. Higher up, you reach cart track, which is reached just at the crossroads. Continue in the direction of Sv. Jakob (unmarked path to the Horn on the right) and continue climbing for a short distance, then the path becomes flat and, as it passes into the woods, it begins to descend. After a short descent, you reach the wide cart track, where you join the normal path leading from Topole towards St. James.
Follow the path to the right, which leads you along the right-hand side of a small hamlet. The winding and scenic path then leads to a crossroads where the path to Sora and Preska branches off slightly to the right, and we continue slightly to the left and continue along the cart track. A few steps further on, take the cart track, which also leads to the summit, to the right and, after a few minutes of steeper climbing, you will reach the Church of St James.
