Šober (Log) - Sveti Urban above Maribor

Access to the starting point:
a) From the road Maribor - Dravograd, from the roundabout in Bresternica take the exit for Gaj nad Mariborom, and immediately after the crossroads take another left towards Gaj. The road continues past the Mercator shop and then through part of the Bresternica settlement, and then to the chapel, where you turn left towards Gaj nad Maribor. Continue along the Bresternišek brook, and from the crossroads by Šoberjev Manor, turn right onto the road to Sv. Urbano. Continue along Petka Graba, and follow the road to the Log school bus stop, where there is also a marked crossroads. Park in a suitable place at the crossroads.
b) Drive to Spodnja Kungota, then follow the road to Zgornja Kungota. At Kozjak nad Pesnico, turn left towards Gaj and Urban. Continue uphill, following the signs for Gaj nad Mariborom and then the road leading to Bresternica. When you reach the crossroads where you see the signs for Tojzlov vrh - Večernikova direction, park in a suitable place at the crossroads.

Path description:
From the starting point, take the road to Kungota and follow it uphill. After a few minutes, you will reach a small crossroads from which you continue straight ahead, and just a minute further on you will reach another, slightly larger and marked crossroads.
From the crossroads, continue straight ahead on the marked road, along which there are signs for Pesnica and Kungota (to the right St Urban - access by car), and first descend slightly through the forest. When the forest ends, go around the Nabašec homestead on the right and climb up to the crossroads, in the middle of which there is a sign.
Continue to the right, along the road, where the asphalt quickly ends, and then, with beautiful views, climb up to the asphalt road, where it joins the carriage road to Sv. Urbano.
Continue left and into the woods, crossing the slopes. We quickly reach a crossroads where the road to the Hlade farm branches off to the right, and we continue straight ahead and soon leave the forest. There is a bit of a climb past individual houses, and higher up we can see the Church of St Urban quite close up. The path continues to lead us along the beautiful views of the surrounding area, and the marked path from Maribor (the path past Brunček) joins us from the left.
Continue straight ahead, leaving the asphalt road at an unmarked turnoff, where a path branches off to the right, leading to the top of St. Urban.
There is a short cross-country climb over a scenic slope, and then you reach another road, which you follow to the right. Follow the road for another minute and you will reach the Church of St. Urban, which offers a beautiful view towards Maribor and the surrounding hills.
