Sovodenj - Bevkov vrh (gentle path)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Ljubljana or Kranj, drive to Škofja Loka, from where you continue to Gorenjska vas. In Gorenjska vas, turn right in the direction of Cerkno and Žiri. The road then takes you past the village of Trebija, after which you turn right in the direction of Cerkno (on the left Žiri). You then follow this road to the village of Sovodenj, where you park in the parking lot between the shop and the firemen's lodge.
b) From Tolmin, take Cerkno and follow the road towards Škofja Loka. When you get to the village Sovodenj, park in the parking lot between the shop and the fire station.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road on the left, which leads past the fire station. After a few steps, a marked road branches off to the right at the refreshment rom in the direction of Bevko's Peak. The road climbs steeply at first and loses its asphalt coating after the first sharp left turn. The steepness of the road then eases and leads us a little further on to a place where a marked cart track road branches off to the right. The turn-off is poorly marked!
The track first climbs through the forest and then leads us over grassy slopes to a village where we reach the road. Continue to the right and the path soon leads to a fork in the trail, where you continue left along the road in the direction of Bevkov vrh on the SPP. After a few minutes the road leads to another part of the village where the marked cart track branches off to the left onto grassy slopes. The track ascends gently over the grassy slopes and leads us higher up to the next hamlet. There is a short descent along the road and the path leads to a crossroads where it continues upwards to the right. Follow the road to the next houses, where the path from Sivka joins us on the left.
Here continue right up past the houses to the grassy slopes over which you will climb in a moderate ascent. In the upper part of the meadow, the path turns left into the forest, where it crosses the slopes of Bevko Peak without any major ascents and descents. Continue along the path, which leads to the dilapidated houses, where you can see the markings 'Stamp at the chapel'. Continue past the houses to the chapel where the stamp is located.
From the chapel, you can climb to the forested Bevkov vrh, which is a five-minute walk from here in the direction of Sovodnja.
