Spodnja Besnica (fish farm) - Špičasti hrib

Access to the starting point:
a) From Ljubljana, take the old road to Kranj, then follow the main road to the bridge over the Sava River. Just before the bridge, we leave the main road and continue straight ahead towards Besnice. Continue through Rakovica and Spodnja Besnica, and then turn left at the sign at the end of Spodnja Besnica in the direction of Ribogojnica. Follow the signs for Ribogojnica and we follow the road to Zdravilní studenec, where we park in a suitable place by the information board.
b) From Jesenice or Bled, take the motorway towards Ljubljana, and we follow it to the Kranj - West exit. Continue along the old regional road towards Ljubljana, and we follow it to Kranj, where we turn right towards Besnice, just after the bridge over the Sava River. Continue through Rakovica and Spodnja Besnica, and then turn left at the sign at the end of Spodnja Besnica in the direction of Ribogojnica. Follow the signs for the Ribogojnica, and we follow the road to Zdravilní studenec, where we park in a suitable place next to the information board.

Path description:
From the starting point, continue along the macadam road, which climbs gently through the forest. Soon we reach a small crossroads, where a marked trail to Sveti Mohor branches off to the right, and we walk along the road for a few more minutes, following it in the direction of Špičasti hrib at the crossroads. A little further on, the road leads us to a small wooden hut, which is located on the left side of the road.
At this very spot, on the right-hand side, we see a sign for Špičasti hrib, which points us right up the bank. The way forward initially climbs steeply, but then after a few metres it lays down and continues in a steep climb. After a few minutes of ascending, you will come out on a forest road, which you will cross and on the other side of which you will find the continuation of the marked trail. The path continues through the forest and for some time follows an undistinguished ridge, then turns slightly to the right, where it briefly lies down. There is a short crossing, and then the path starts to climb steeply. Higher up, we cross cart track, and the path then moves on to a slightly steeper woded ridge. The path, which passes through the forest almost all the time, leads us higher up to a marked crossroads, where we continue straight up (on the left Sveti Jošt, on the right Sveti Mohor).
Continue in the direction of Špičasti hrib, the summit of which is reached after a further 5 minutes' walk.
