Spodnja Idrija - Jelenk (via Kendove robe)

Access to the starting point:
From Logatec, drive to Tolmin or vice versa. When you get to Spodnja Idrija turn left (from Tolmin turn right) in the direction of the village of Kanomlja. After 100 m of driving, you will see a sign for Jelenk. There is also a large parking lot near the sign, but you can only park there on free days (the parking lot is reserved for employees of a nearby company).

Path description:
From the parking lot, cross the bridge over the Kanomljica River and on the other side continue straight along the asphalted road to the crossroads, where you continue along the right-hand road that climbs past the houses. After a short climb, the signs for Jelenk direct you left across the meadow uphill. In the middle of the meadow, leave cart track and continue left up the footpath (the path is waymarked). The path then goes into the forest, where it climbs quite steeply. A little higher you reach a secluded farm, where you also get on the road. The road is only crossed because the markings then direct us to the footpath again, which initially climbs up the forest slopes. After a few steps of further walking, the path goes back into the forest, where it leads us to a crossroads.
At the crossroads, continue to the right and the easy path through the forest soon leads to a wide ridge. Here the path turns left and climbs the ridge for a while, then the ridge gives way to the right side. The slope, which is crossed by a narrow path, becomes steeper and steeper, and the views of the surrounding hills begin to open up. This path soon leads us to the first fixed safety gear. Instead of the usual ropes, the path is secured with a thick cable. The path then turns to the left and is followed by an almost vertical climb using the fixed safety gear. There are a few more short switchbacks and climbs along fixed safety gear and we are already in front of the most challenging part of the route, where there is also a registration box. Here you climb almost vertically upwards using fixed safety gear. The path is also slightly crumbly in this part, so you need to be extra careful. There are a few short switchbacks and then another very short almost vertical climb. The path then becomes progressively less difficult and soon leads to a viewpoint where the fixed safety gear also ends. The trail continues through increasingly dense forest and leads to the Kenda Highland Farm.
As soon as you emerge from the forest, first follow the road downhill for a few tens of metres, then turn right onto the cart track, which leads you past the farm. Continue on cart track, which soon leads us through the forest to another high mountain farm, where an even easier path joins from the left.
Here continue left along the road (porly marked) to the next house, after which continue right uphill. Continue up the cart track, which leads us over a less and less vegetated slope to the bottom of the Jelenka peak. Just below the summit, we see the markings for Jelenk, which point us right upwards. Follow this path, which will take you to the top in a few steps.
