Star maln - Koča na Planini nad Vrhniko

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Koper motorway, take the Vrhnika exit and then continue along the old road towards Logatec. At the last traffic light on Vrhnika, which you can recognise by the bank and pharmacy nearby, turn right, and then follow the road towards Stary Malno at the next junctions. The road soon loses its asphalt surface and continues along the Bela valley. Follow the relatively slippery road all the way to the parking lot near the hut in Stary Malen.
From Logatec, follow the old road towards Vrhnika. Just after the road to Zaplana branches off to the left, you will come to a less visible crossroads where the road to Strmica branches off to the left. In the village, turn right and follow the road as it descends steeply towards the Bela valley. After a short descent, you will reach a small crossroads where a pos from Vrhnika joins from the right. Park in the large parking lot next to the above-mentioned crossroads.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the winding macadam road past the mill wheel and in less than 5 minutes' walk you will reach the hut in Stary Malen.
From the hut, continue in the direction of Lintvern and Mountain pasture and continue along the road for a short distance before it turns into a well-maintained footpath that continues along the Bele stream. The path then crosses the Bela via a small bridge and then begins to climb moderately. The ascent continues along the right bank of the brok, along a rather slippery path, helped by a short steel bar a little higher up (not difficult). The path then returns to the right side of the brok, where a few minutes of traversing then leads to Lintverna (the source of the Bela).
At Lintvern the path turns sharply to the right and after a short climb leads us to a small viewpoint where we also step onto an undistinguished woded ridge. Continue climbing along the ridge for a while, then cross two consecutive cart track. In both cases, continue in the direction of Mountain pasture, following a path that climbs quite steeply a few times higher up. Higher up, the path gently slopes and within a few minutes of further walking leads to the Shelter at Mountain pasture above Vrhnika, next to which there is an observation tower over 20 m high.
